How to get in touch with me

[edit]

Feel free to leave me messages here about articles and such on Wikipedia, but if you need to prod me about a tech issue I might not see your message here. You'll get a speedier response from regular channels these days, I'm mostly doing research and tech debt/documentation debt cleanup. :)

  • Most software issues should get added to our bug tracker.
Even if you grab ahold of me another way, it's going to be easier for me to keep track of it if it's in here!
  • IRC chat - I idle in some channels but don't usually have the client open.
  • For Wikimedia Foundation work people, Slack will give me a notification on direct ping but I don't actively sit in channels much!
  • direct e-mail is best option

A kitten for you!

[edit]

Thank you for working hard to keep Wikipedia running!

I definitely couldn't do the "hardcore techy stuff" that you do (at best, I can manage the most basic webpage coding imaginable...), so I'm glad there are people like you who know how to make this website easier and more user-friendly for everyone!

Keep up the great work!! :)

Dear Brooke Vibber,

I'd like to extend a cordial invitation to you to join the Twenty Year Society, an informal group for editors who've been participating in the Wikipedia project for twenty years or more.

Best regards, Chris Troutman (talk) 18:45, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to participate in a research

[edit]

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team
