RIAA Gold Award Status?
[edit]The article states that the album achieved RIAA Gold status (which is 500,000 copies sold) in the U.S. in 2002, then gives the number of albums sold in the U.S. as 1,100,000 copies. Album sales of 1 million units qualifies as Platinum status in the U.S. Can anyone explain the discrepancy in the article? 208.4.251.216 (talk) 08:55, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
I fixed it.--Greg D. Barnes (talk) 03:30, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
Small song articles
[edit]The pages One Year of Love and Gimme the Prize are extremely small and could still find a comfortable home on this page. Please discuss this and other similar small Queen song articles on my talk page. Dar-Ape 03:21, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- One Year of Love should not be merged into A Kind of Magic as this song was released as a single. (I have added an info box, categories etc.). - Candyfloss 10:14, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for expanding it. Dar-Ape 02:25, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
Friends Will Be Friends
[edit]"'Friends Will Be Friends' was written by Deacon. The song is credited as a Mercury/Deacon song yet Mercury had very little input on the song, it was only of Deacons insistence that Mercury's name was credited. It is a rock ballad in the vain of 'We are the Champions' and was written for audience participation."
Any source for this?
Brian May talks about this song on his soapbox (http://www.brianmay.com/brian/brianssb/brianssb.html; 30 Jul 06) as if Freddie Mercury was the sole composer of it... :S
Anyone got a clue who really wrote it?

A Kind of Magic: a #1 hit in thirty-five countries?
[edit]Can anyone name at least one of those countries? MatteusH 20:02, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
One Year of Love
[edit]Shouldn't the One Year of Love article be merged into this album? I have checked numerous sites for chart sources and it seems this single did not chart anywhere at all. The information on the article is extremely limited and has remained a stub article since mid-2006. Ajsmith141 (talk) 16:59, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
- Done I think you're right. I'll take care of it. --BDD (talk) 16:55, 5 August 2012 (UTC)

German 3x gold certification!
[edit]The article says that A Kind Of Magic acheived 3x gold certification in germany which it did. However at the time of release a gold certification in germany denoted 250,000 sales, so it should say 750,000 copies were sold in that country. The current certification refers to the modern German gold certificate which is 100,000 sales not its sales value as it was at the time of release in 1986. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zulu1963 (talk • contribs) 15:50, 24 November 2011 (UTC)
Inspiration for the phrase "A Kind of Magic"
[edit]The article claims that the inspiration for the song and album name "A Kind of Magic" comes from the use of that phrase in the film "Highlander." The citation for that claim is a link to a collection of quotes from the Highlander film, which does include the line in question. However, there is no claim made on that page that the Highlander line was the inspiration for the song or the album title, leaving open the possibility that the Queen song and/or album was in fact the inspiration for the line. Is there another source that can verify which work inspired which? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.197.133.145 (talk) 17:42, 4 April 2013 (UTC)
Requested Title Change
[edit]I would like to suggest that the name of the title be changed from A Kind of Magic to A Kind of Magic (album). If you would like to discuss the issue, please leave a message on my talk page. Thank you.--67.54.187.27 (talk) 20:56, 25 August 2013 (UTC)
