County Seat

[edit]

The actual county seat of Burnett County is the incorporated village of Siren, as cited by numerous sources referenced on the appropriate pages, and as listed in the table on the Wikipedia page "List of Counties in Wisconsin". Some confusion arose due to a .pdf document on the Burnett County website that is labeled "County Seat - Town Of Meenon Government Center", laid out in a fashion that makes it appear that the county seat is the "Town Of Meenon"; however, the actual address on this document confirms the location as Siren, Wisconsin. Without exception, county seats in Wisconsin are the incorporated municipalities, or unincorporated CDPs in a couple of cases, wherein the county courthouse resides; they are not the townships, which is what Meenon is. This information is further confirmed by all Rand-McNally and Google maps. Porterhse (talk) 08:23, 22 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
