Electrocution or Injection
[edit]Elmo Patrick Sonnier the real person died on a electric chair. Having never read the non-fiction book, I'm confused if he was electrocuted or as written in this wiki article, "died by lethal injection". In Tim Robbin's film adaptation the amalgam character of Matthew Poncelet died by lethal injection. So now I'm confused how did he die in the story? Electrocution like in real-life or lethal injection like in the movie. Please make the correct amendments. by Concerned Reader
Hm, no, I think "autobiographical account of the incident" was better--Prejean glosses over most of her life and focuses on her ministry on Death Row and why she thinks the death penalty is wrong. Koyaanis Qatsi
I would like to request a chapter that precisely depicts the story...Spoiler Warnings of course.
Separation into different articles
[edit]It's certainly a good idea to a create separate film article. An opera one already exists and I'll make chages to reflect that.

Agreed. A separate film article is required.
Wrong name
[edit]Sister Helen Prejean visited Elmo Patrick Sonnier in prison, not Matthew Poncelet! I'm fixing this, okay? --Angeldeb82 00:18, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
Robert Lee Willie
[edit]Prehaps it's because only one amalgam character is featured in the Tim Robbins film adaption, but Prejean actually describes her involvement as spiritual advisor with two death row inmates. The first half of the book focuses on Elmo Patrick Sonnier. The second on Robert Lee Willie. But the latter isn't mentioned at all in the article. So, I'm mentioning him. ~Skulking
